Federal government should entrust power to provinces: Madhes CM Yadav

HETAUDA: Chief Minister of Madhes Province, Saroj Kumar Yadav, has said the federal government should entrust powers to each province as soon as possible to make federalism sustainable and strong.

At a program organized at Hetauda of Makawanpur, Chief Minister Yadav urged the federal government to distribute revenue in provinces and local levels in justifiable manner.

He further said a meeting of Chief Ministers of all seven provinces organized at Hetauda of Makawanpur today itself would submit a report along with different suggestion to the federal government.

The Chief Minister laid emphasis that the three-tier government should honestly involve to make the people aware of federalism and republic.

Similarly, Chairperson of Municipal Association of Nepal, Bhim Prasad Dhungana, and Chairperson of National Federation of Rural Municipalities, Laxmi Devi Pandey, said the existing laws should be revised to make people’s representatives to perform their responsibilities in local levels as per the sentiments of federalism and constitution.

They mentioned that the federalism should move ahead by distributing budget equally to province and local government without neglecting local levels.
