WASHINGTON: The Embassy of Nepal marked Constitution Day and National Day with a special ceremony in Washington, D.C., today.
Ambassador Sridhar Khatri conveyed his warm greetings and best wishes to the Nepali community and friends of Nepal in the United States during his address at the event. The Ambassador highlighted Nepal’s achievements since the promulgation of the Constitution in 2015 and expressed gratitude to the United States for its steadfast partnership and support in Nepal’s journey toward a democratic and prosperous society.
Deputy Assistant Secretary at the State Department, Afreen Akhter, also addressed the gathering, acknowledging Nepal’s accomplishments as a democratic nation. Distinguished guests in attendance included Ms. Alice Albright, CEO of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC); Rear Admiral Eileen Laubacher, Senior Director at the National Security Council at the White House; Ms. Anjali Kaur, Deputy Assistant Administrator at USAID; and Jonathan Brooks, Deputy Vice President at MCC.
The ceremony attracted a diverse audience, including officials from various U.S. government departments and agencies, members of the diplomatic community, business leaders, media representatives, and members of the Nepali community.
