FNCCI third executive meeting taking place in Dhorpatan on October 2-3

GALKOT, BAGLUNG: The third executive meeting of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce Industry ( FNCCI) is scheduled to take place on October 2-3 in the Dhortpatan Wildlife Reserve in Baglung.

It said the decision of the meeting aims to explore potentialities and opportunities for tourism promotion, especially in Dhorpatan.

The Baglung Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Dhorpatan Chamber of Commerce and Industry are jointly hosting the meeting in coordination with the Reserve Office.

The meeting will bring together 70 FNCCI central committee members, various stakeholders, and people’s representatives from the Dhorpatan municipality, Nisikhola, and Tamankhola rural municipalities, according to Baglung Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Naresh Kandel. The organizers expect that holding the meeting in Dhorpatan will be a milestone in further promoting the tourism industry in Dhorpatan and exploring the market for agricultural products such as potatoes and apples.

Dhorpatan, the country’s only wildlife reserve, has recently seen an increase in domestic tourist arrivals, although it has traditionally been known for welcoming foreign tourists interested in hunting. However, one of the challenges facing the tourism industry in the area is the lack of proper access roads to the Reserve and adequate hotel infrastructure.
