BUTWAL: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has issued a stark warning, stating that a potent protest could emerge if the 12-point explanatory note accompanying the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) agreement is not considered an indispensable component of the compact.

Speaking at an event organized by the Samajwadi Morcha Nepal in Butwal on Tuesday, the Prime Minister expressed his concerns, indicating a growing frustration with the prevailing situation.

“We are trying to convey our dissatisfaction by stating that nothing is happening at the moment,” said Prime Minister Dahal. He continued, “I am still waging a battle to safeguard Nepal’s national interest, independence, and sovereignty. The nature of this battle may have changed, but the struggle persists. I call upon everyone to maintain their confidence in this endeavor.”

Prime Minister Dahal highlighted the passage of the 12-point explanatory note within the framework of the American cooperation project, the MCC. He asserted that the implementation of these explanatory notes was crucial and that any failure in this regard would lead to renewed street protests against the MCC.

Additionally, Prime Minister Dahal disclosed that a representative from the United States is scheduled to visit Nepal for discussions related to the MCC’s implementation.

In the face of complex circumstances, he expressed a commitment to securing the nation’s interests, sovereignty, and right to self-determination.

Acknowledging the challenges he confronts, Prime Minister Dahal emphasized the core values of the nation, the people, socialism, good governance, social justice, and prosperity.

Elaborating further, he noted the ongoing efforts of certain factions to forge compromises with feudal elements, aiming to reshape the present republic into a realm marked by executioners or brokers.

CPN-Maoist Chairman Dahal underscored his intent to steer Nepal towards a socialist republic, emphasizing that merely declaring intentions is insufficient.

To counter these dynamics, he called upon leaders to lead masses onto the streets, thwarting reactionary conspiracies through unity and popular support.
