President Paudel attends Republic Day celebrations ceremony



KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel attended a special ceremony held at the Nepal Army Pavilion, Tundhikhel on the occasion of the 16th Republic Day today.

On the occasion, an aerial shower of flower petals and a display of a banner scribing ‘Republic Day, 2080’ was undertaken.

Also on the same occasion, traditional cultural processions of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur areas were performed.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ addressed the ceremony hosted by the Republic Main Function Committee.

On the occasion, the Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force performed march past at the special function.

A joint team of the Nepal Army and Armed Police Force had presented songs/lyrics reflecting the feelings of nation and nationality.

On the occasion, Vice-President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, acting Chief Justice Hari Krishna Karki, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Chairperson Ganesh Prasad Timilsina and Deputy Prime Minster duo, Purna Bahadur Khadka and Narayan Kaji Shrestha were also present on the occasion.

The special ceremony was also attended by ministers, constitutional bodies’ chiefs, high-ranking government officials, security bodies chiefs, chiefs and representatives of diplomatic missions and distinguished personalities.

State broadcasters – Nepal Television and Radio Nepal had made live broadcast of the special event.
