KMC collects Rs 6.49 billion in revenue



KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City has collected Rs 6.49 billion in revenue till April 13 of the current fiscal year. It was 62.33 percent of the target amount.

Chief of KMC Revenue Department, Dhurba Kafle, said Rs 5.97 billion in revenue was collected during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

It was up by Rs 1.40 billion as compared to the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, he added.

The KMC has set a target of collecting Rs 10.41 billion in revenue in the current fiscal year. It has collected the highest revenue from property tax during the period which is Rs 794 million.

The KMC has been collecting revenue under 36 different headings including property, business, advertisement, entertainment, and vehicle tax.

Kafle shared that although the problem surfaced in collecting revenue in previous years due to the coronavirus, KMC would not face any problem to collect the revenue as per the target this year.
