Financial assistance to disqualified combatants old decision: Minister Sharma

KATHMANDU: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Minister Rekha Sharma has said that the decision to provide financial support to the disqualified combatants had been taken previously.

At a training program organized by CPN (Maoist Center) Dang Coordination Committee on Friday, Minister Sharma made it clear that the decision taken earlier was being implemented now.

On a different note, Minister Sharma said it was a historic feat of the government to reach textbooks to the students on time this academic year.

She also urged the concerned not to play politics in the name of the airport in Dang. “The first priority is to make the Tarigaon airport in Tulsipur effective and if there are technical hurdles then another place anywhere in Dang could be chosen,” she said.

The Communications Minister said that the process of construction of telephone towers has progressed in many places in the district to improve telephone and internet connectivity.

At the program Chairperson of Babai Rural Municipality, Yek Lal Gharti, Chair of Dangisharan Maniram Chaudhary, Chair of Tulsipur, Khushiram Chaudhary and others informed Minister Sharma about the development and construction challenges about their respective rural municipalities.
