Electricity tariff-free for irrigation in Gandaki

POKHARA: The government of Gandaki province has decided to provide up to a cent percent subsidy on the electricity tariff of lift drinking water and irrigation projects.

The decision has been made to help increase the production and productivity of the agricultural sector.

The decision was taken by the first meeting of the Council of Ministers after the newly appointed Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey assumed office, said the spokesperson of the Gandaki province government and minister Saraswati Aryal Tiwari.

Similarly, the provincial government has decided to make necessary arrangements to improve service delivery from the transport management office including the distribution of the driving license.

The cabinet meeting has decided to form a five-member task force under the coordination of the secretary of the Office of the chief minister and the council of ministers to study the situation and make recommendations for improvement of the public service delivery.

The task force has been given 15 days to submit its report along with the recommendations, Aryal said.
