PM Dahal ‘in a mood’ to appoint Narayankaji as Home Minister

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda is making preparations to appoint Narayankaji Shrestha as Home Minister, sources close to PM Dahal said.

Shrestha is currently the Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Management.

PM Dahal has been looking after the Home Ministry after the then Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane lost the post due to his citizenship issue.

Sources claimed that PM Dahal is p[reparing to expand the cabinet today (Wednesday) itself.

It should be noted that the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) had earlier urged PM Dahal to appoint the Home Minister from the party.

If Narayankaji Shrestha is given the responsibility of the Ministry of Home Affairs, this will be his second time as the Home Minister.

Earlier, Shrestha was the Home Minister in the government led by Jhalanath Khanal.
