Furniture shop gutted in fire



DAMAK: A furniture shop owned by local Bikash Bhattarai is gutted in a fire that occurred last night.

Most of the furniture pieces have been destroyed in the fire that occurred at Balaji Furnishing shop at Damak Municipality-6 in Jhapa.

A large number of tables, chairs and other goods relating to furniture and furnishing are destroyed in the fire.

Bhattarai said that he was informed about the fire immediately after he reached home from the shop located in the ground floor of a house owned by Bhagwan Basnet.

The fire was doused with the fire brigades from Damak, Urlabari and Gauradaha along with the police personnel and local people. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Area Police Office, Damak, Dili Giri said that details of the losses are being collected.
