NSL doubles winner’s prize to seven million rupees as second season nears conclusion



KATHMANDU: With the imminent conclusion of the second season of the Nepal Super League (NSL), organizers have announced a substantial increase in the championship prize money.

In a recent press statement, Nepal Sports and Event Management revealed that the prize money for the winning team has been doubled, rising from Rs 3,500,000 in the first season to an impressive Rs 7,000,000 for the upcoming champion.

The runner-up will also be awarded a heightened cash prize of Rs 2,000,000, while the best player of the tournament will receive a gold ball and a cash prize of Rs 200,000.

Additionally, outstanding individual performances will be recognized with a golden boot and a cash prize of Rs 100,000 for the top goal scorer, and a golden gloves award along with a cash prize of Rs 100,000 for the best goalkeeper.

In other exciting developments, the emerging player in the tournament will be presented with a cash prize of Rs 100,000.

As the stakes rise, Pokhara Thunders FC and Lalitpur FC are set to clash in the second qualifier match of the NSL today. The winner of this match will advance to face Dhangadhi FC in the ultimate battle for the NSL title. Dhangadhi, the runner-up in the previous edition, presents a formidable challenge.

With Kathmandu eliminated, the NSL is guaranteed to crown a new champion this season, adding an extra layer of anticipation to the tournament’s climax.
