Tourism fraternity makes contribution to PM Disaster Relief Fund

KATHMANDU: The Nepali tourism fraternity made financial and logistic contribution to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund to help the earthquake survivors in Jajarkot and Rukum West districts.

Chiefs and representatives of different organizations working in the field of tourism sector handed over the cash and goods worth Rs 3 million to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

According to Chairman of Tourist Bus Association of Nepal Krishna Acharya, Rs 1.9 million, 240 pieces of blanket and some stretchers have been handed over to the PM in the Fund for the quake survivors.

On the occasion, President of Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN) Binayak Shah, Chairman of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents Ramesh Thapa, Chairman of Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies Shiva Adhikari and other agencies’ representatives were present to handover the amount and goods to the PM.

The earthquake, measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale, happened on November 3 with its epicenter at Ramidanda of Jajarkot district, resulted in more than 150 fatalities in Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim districts.
