KATHMANDU: Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu is hosting the 6th edition of the Asian Electoral Stakeholders Forum from December 6 to 7, featuring the participation of high-level representatives from election management agencies and institutions across Asia and the Pacific region.
The two-day conference is collaboratively organized by the Election Commission of Nepal and the Asian Network for Free Elections, Shaligram Sharma Poudel, the spokesperson of the Election Commission of Nepal, said.
Heads and representatives of election management bodies from 40 countries in Asia and the Pacific region, alongside members of civil society, and over 200 representatives from non-profit and academic organizations engaged in various aspects of elections, will actively participate in the conference.
This event is being conducted under the overarching theme of ‘Building Sustainable Democracy: Addressing Electoral Challenges and Opportunities.’
Throughout the conference, a total of 21 working papers, focusing on seven key topics, will be presented and discussed.
The proceedings will culminate with the formulation of the Kathmandu Declaration.
