Landslide blocks Kaligandaki corridor

The Ridi-Rudrabeni sector of the Kaligandaki corridor has been blocked due to a landslide.

According to Gulmi police, the road has been completely closed since last night due to a landslide that occurred on the Ridi-Rudrabeni road section within the Kaligandaki corridor.

Last night, a large rockslide occurred in Bishnupanjar, near Rurukshetra Rural Municipality, close to Ridi Bazar.

Upon receiving information about the landslide, a police team led by Police Inspector Anil Thapa from the area police office in Ridi has been working at the scene since morning to clear the obstruction and ensure the road’s operation. Yadu Gyawali, chairman of Rurukshetra Rural Municipality, stated that Bidari Construction is assisting with the use of excavators to remove the landslide.

The road leading to Burtibang in Baglung via Ridi-Rudrabeni-Wamitaksar is one of the busiest routes in the district. With the road now blocked, passengers and vehicles traveling to Palpa, Butwal, and other destinations in the area are eagerly awaiting its reopening.
