Bhutanese refugee leader Teknath Rijal’s wife calls for fair trial

KATHMANDU: Kausheela Rijal, spouse of Bhutanese refugee leader Teknath Rijal, has urged a fair trial for her husband.

Leader Rijal is currently in custody facing allegations related to a fake Bhutanese refugee case.

Kaushila issued a statement expressing concern over what she deems unfounded charges against her husband. She emphasized that Teknath Rijal has a history of advocating for human rights and justice, both nationally and internationally.

Kaushila also noted that her husband had informed authorities and media about the alleged fake refugee network last year. She urged a fair judicial process given Rijal’s health challenges and his enduring commitment to refugee rights.
