Chinese envoy and Finance Minister Mahat discuss Tokha-Chhahare tunnel project implementation

KATHMANDU: Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song held a meeting with Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat on Friday.

According to the Finance Minister’s Secretariat, the meeting decided to take ahead the construction of the Tokha-Chhahare tunnel as soon as possible.

Finance Minister Mahat and Ambassador Song also discussed bringing a large number of tourists from China into Nepal.

Similarly, there was also a discussion about making tunnels in other hilly areas like Mustang and Rasuwagadhi.

During the meeting, Chinese Ambassador Song informed that China would provide Nepal Rs 80 billion rupees for the development of Nepal’s infrastructure.

Ambassador Song expressed his belief that the aid provided by the Chinese government will be used in the infrastructure sector of Nepal.
