Decision to distribute funds to unqualified fighters is wrong: Madhav Nepal

JANAKPURDHAM: Chairman of CPN Unified Socialist Party and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has opposed the government’s decision to give Rs 2 lakh to unqualified fighters.

Speaking at a press conference organized by the Socialist Journalist Organization Dhanusha in Janakpurdham on Friday, Chairman Nepal said that amid the economic crisis in the country, the CPN Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kmala Dahal ‘Prachanda’-led government is wrong to decide to give money to unqualified fighters of its own people’s war.

The Unified Socialist Chair argued that provided the decision to distribute money has been made in the economic crisis the country is undergoing, it is unacceptable.

He promised to talk to Prime Minister Dahal on the issue.

Nepal also suggested the retirement of all political leaders above 70 years.

“The recent byelection results show that the major political parties need to correct themselves at the earliest,” he said, adding, ” People want the substantive change and we should work to materialize their dreams and assure them of our sincerity.”

The Unified Socialist Chair reiterated making a strong front coalition between the political parties of socialists spirit.
