Twin earthquakes hit Nepal’s Bajura district

KATHMANDU: Twin earthquakes of magnitudes 4.8 and 5.9 hit Nepal’s western district of Bajura last night.

The epicenter of the earthquake was at Dahakot of Bajura district, approximately 800km northwest of Kathmandu.

According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center, two earthquakes occurred in Bajura — one of 4.9 magnitude at 11:58 pm and another of 5.9 magnitude earthquake at 1:30 am.

Chief District Officer of Bajura, Pushkar Khadka, said that there was no information about the damage caused by the earthquake.
