Lumbini Chief Minister Chaudhary to be sworn in today



KATHMANDU: Newly-appointed Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, Dilli Chaudhary is taking the oath of office and secrecy today (Friday).

Lumbini Province Chief Amik Sherchan appointed Chaudhary as Chief Minister of the province according to Article 168 (2) of the Constitution on Thursday.

Chaudhary was appointed as the Chief Minister after he garnered the support of 52 lawmakers from 8 parties including the Maoist Center and one independent parliamentarian.

Chaudhary was appointed as the Chief Minister (CM) after the then CM Lila Giri of CPN-UML was relieved of his post after failing to receive a vote of confidence.
