Number of active Covid cases increases lately



KATHMANDU: The number of active cases of COVID-19 in the country has increased lately.

With the number of infections increasing in neighboring India, it has led to a rise in positive cases due to the open border, Director of Epidemiology and Disease Control Division Dr Chuman Lal Das.

Most of the infected people are entering Nepal through the Trinagar border crossing at Dhangadhi in Kailali.

On Monday, out of the 1,266 people who were tested, 69 were found carrying the virus, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

Meanwhile, the health ministry has urged one and all to take caution and also get themselves booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Administration of booster doses is currently underway in different parts of the country including Kathmandu valley.
