Durga Prasai forwards 11 points demands, urges abolition of republicanism, federalism



KATHMANDU: Former central member of CPN-UML and trader Durga Prasai has announced a protest forwarding 11 points demands including abolition of republicanism and federalism.

Prasain, who is the coordinator of the Nation, Nationality, Religion-Culture and Citizen Rescue Campaign, held a press conference in Kathmandu on Tuesday and announced the protest.

Prasain made 11 demands including the implementation of the constitution of 2047 BS which accepted the monarchy, abolition of federalism, maintenance of Hindu national, nationalization of banks and financial institutions, 4 to 5 percent interest rate for loans above 20 million, restructuring of loans and making the provision of 15 years installments for bank loans.

He argued that the constitution will not prevent the former royal family from participating in this movement as citizens.
