Tourism Minister Kirati vows to donate salary to education sector



KATHMANDU: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati, has announced that he would donate his salary to the education sector.

Minister Kirati, while assuming the office had urged his relatives and well-wishers to not welcome him with garlands and bouquet.

He had also announced that he would set up a donation box and the proceeds generated from it would be utilized for education in remote places.

The money collected in donation box till yesterday, his one-month salary and half month incentives at secretariat totaling Rs 604 thousand would be spent for education, he shared.

The Minister further said even a revolving fund would be set up for a school in far-flung area. The school would be selected for soon.
