Cheque bounce cases surging in Chitwan



KATHMANDU: The instances of cheque bounce issues are increasing in Chitwan district of late.

Total 211 complaints have been filed at the Banking Fraud and Crime Investigation Branch established in November 2022.

According to the District Police Office, of the complaints, 67 cases were filed.  Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bijay Raj Pandit, said of the 67 cases, 26 cases were settled.

He shared some three cases of cheque bounce are registered every day.

Pandit further said banking fraud is increasing in the society as number of people thinking cheque as of little value is on the rise in the recent period.
