Gaushala clash: Police use tear gas during Prasai-led protest



KATHMANDU: Durga Prasain-led civil rescue campaign has clashed during a demonstration at the Gaushala in Kathmandu.

A clash between the police and the protestors took place during the program organized by the Dharmaguru Parivar Nepal at Gaushala Chowk in support of the campaign.

The protestors blocked the road and held a meeting. When the police tried to clear the road, the protesters pelted stones and the police fired a few rounds of tear gas.

Prasain, coordinator of civil rescue campaign, also attended the protest. The police detained some protesters. Before that, Srinivasa Acharya and others gave a provocative speech in the meeting saying that the movement should be intensified. The police arrested him after giving a provocative speech.
