All services but emergency halted in Pokhara hospitals



GANDAKI: All the services except emergency are closed in hospitals in Pokhara today in protest against the attack on health workers at Manipal Hospital.

Nepal Medical Association, Gandaki had through a press release on Tuesday, called on hospitals throughout Gandaki province to suspend all services save the emergency citing that the doctors are being attacked one after the other. The Nepal Medical Association had expressed its solidarity to the call.

All services except emergency are closed at the Pokhara Academy of Health Sciences, the largest health facility in Gandaki province, today, at the call of the Association, said the Hospital Director Bharat Khatri.

Patients who have come from rural and far-flung areas are facing inconvenience due to the closure of the health services, it is said.
