KATHMANDU: Kristin Harila of Norway and Tenjen Sherpa achieved a remarkable feat today by successfully scaling K2, the world’s second-highest peak in Pakistan.
According to Seven Summit Treks, they reached the summit of K2 on Thursday (July 27), becoming the fastest climbers to conquer all 14 peaks above 8,000m.
Kristin and Tejen accomplished this extraordinary feat within a span of just three months, conquering 14 peaks in total.
Despite facing unfavorable weather conditions during the expedition, the duo persevered, along with around 200 climbers who took part.
Unfortunately, some climbers had to abandon their attempts due to the challenging conditions.
It is worth noting that prior to this achievement, Kristin and Tenjen had already scaled G1 on July 18 and Broad Peak on July 23.
Their determination and skill were evident earlier in July when they successfully ascended G2, the world’s 13th highest mountain.
