Top leaders agree to remove controversial remarks on Jalahari from parliament record

KATHMANDU: The top leaders of three parties– CPN-Maoist Center, Nepali Congress (NC), and CPN-UML– have agreed to request Speaker Devraj Ghimire to remove the controversial remarks made on the Jalahari scam from the parliament record.

The meeting of the top leaders of the three parties held today at Singh Durbar agreed to remove the record of lawmaker Lekhnath Dahal’s speech on the Jalhari case.

In Wednesday’s Parliament meeting, MP Dahal said that UML President KP Oli was involved in the corruption in the Jalahari installation at Pashupatinath temple and should be investigated for the same.

UML lawmakers obstructed the parliament on Thursday demanding the removal of the record of the lawmaker’s remark.

In today’s meeting, after Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’said that the Jalhari issue is not related to KP Oli, the UML agreed to run the parliament.

PM Dahal is scheduled to answer the questions raised on the government’s policies and programs in today’s meeting.
