CTEVT provides free technical education to 640 students



KATHMANDU: The Centre for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) has provided free technical education to 640 students with residential facilities and subsistence allowance from this year.

A total of 640 students from 99 local levels, especially the poor, Dalit and Muslim students who do not have access to technical education have been provided free technical education with boarding facilities and subsistence allowance, said Yekraj Adhikari, information officer of CTEVT.

According to him, 80 students from 99 local levels are undergoing three-year diploma, 160 are in pre-diploma level for 18 months and 400 students are undergoing three-year diploma/certificate level under a special scholarship program.

The students are also provided Rs 3,500 per month as subsistence allowance, Rs 1,500 for transportation expenses and Rs 2,500 for clothing expenses.

The students are studying agriculture, hotel management, forestry, automobile engineering, civil engineering, geomatics engineering, biomedical engineering, refrigeration and air conditioning engineering, medicinal plants, animal science among others.
