BUTWAL: Nepali Congress (NC) Parliamentary Party leader Dilli Chaudhary has been appointed Chief Minister in Lumbini.
Province Chief Amik Sherchan appointed Chaudhary as Chief Minister according to Article 168 (2) of the Constitution.
Chaudhary has garnered the support of 52 provincial lawmakers from 8 parties including the Maoist Center and one independent parliamentarian.
Chaudhary was appointed as the Chief Minister (CM) after the then CM Lila Giri of CPN-UML was relieved of his post after failing to receive a vote of confidence.
According to the Chief Minister’s office, Chief Minister Chaudhary will take the oath of office and secrecy on Friday.
