One killed in jeep mishap in Gulmi



GULMI: A person was killed when a jeep he was traveling in met an accident at Khaltung Khola of the district last night.

The jeep — Lu 1 Cha 9911 — was going towards Bhimgithe, Badigad Rural Municipality of Baglung from Darling of Malika Rural Municipality-2, Gulmi district.

The District Police Office Gulmi, identified the deceased as 18-year-old Kishor KC of Badigad-9, Baglung.

KC is the assistant driver of the jeep.

The jeep driver Prem Bahadur KC, 21, of Badigad-9, who was seriously injured in the mishap, has been taken to Lumbini Medical College and Hospital, Prabas, Palpa for treatment.

The jeep fell some 150 meters down the road, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Dilli Narayan Pandey.

A police team from Paudi Amrai has already reached the accident site for rescue. Preliminary investigation shows that the jeep veered off the road due to brake failure, police said.
