UML ministers resign en masse



KATHMANDU: Ministers representing the CPN (UML) in the present government led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ have tendered their resignation on Monday afternoon.

The Ministers including UML Vice Chair and Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel tendered resignation to the Prime Minister at his official residence in Baluwatar.

Ministers who joined the incumbent government from the UML were Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Paudel, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Jwala Kumari Sah, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Damodar Bhandari, Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Rajendra Rai, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Bimala Rai Paudyal, Minister for Health and Population Padam Giri, Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizen Bhagawati Chaudhary and Minister for Defense Hari Prasad Upreti.

Earlier, the party, through its secretariat meeting, today decided to quit the incumbent government.
