Govt prepares for half-yearly budget review



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Finance has started preparations for a half-yearly review of the budget for the current fiscal 2022-23.

The Ministry has formed a committee to proceed with the review.

The team is led by the Chief of Budget and Program Division, according to Ministry Spokesperson Anand Kafle. As he said, the Committee is assigned to review the budget till mid-January. The further review will be based on the committee’s report.

The panel coordinated by Division Chief Ritesh Kumar Shakya comprises a representative each from the Nepal Rastra Bank, National Planning Commission, and Office of the Auditor General and the Public Debt Management Office. Besides, it incorporates all secretaries from the Finance Ministry and the Division under-secretaries.
