Ultra marathon to promote tourism in Tanahu



TANAHU: The Byas Municipaity in Tanahu district is organizing an ultra marathon on January 30 in a bid to promote tourism.

On the occasion of the Martyrs Day, the 44-km marathon will be held from Manhun of Byas-5 to Shahidgram Pulimarang of Byas-8.

The race is sixth in the series- organized annually by the municipality. The event is expected to promote tourism in the district.

Mayor Baikuntha Nath Neupane informed that the event was also connecting Manahu, a touristic village and Pulimarang, the martyrs’ village.

He believed that the annual marathon had contributed much to the tourism promotion in Manhunkot.

The runners securing first position in the marathon will bag cash prize of Rs 61,000, while second one will get 51,000, third 38,000, and consolation of Rs 12,500.

Information to this was shared by Chief Administrative Officer, Hariram Nagila.

Those willing to take part in the competition are given time to register themselves before January 29.

The runners will be given orientation on January 29 itself.
