Maoist Center holding SC meeting even today



KATHMANDU: The ruling Maoist Center is holding its Standing Committee (SC) meeting today as well.

The meeting that started on Thursday will continue on Friday as well, Maoist leader Devendra Poudel, said.

On Thursday, the party emphasized that the country’s President should be appointed on the basis of national consensus.

Maoist leader Poudel said that the party’s emphasis is to make the President on the basis of national consensus.

Poudel said, “If we can forge a national consensus on a common candidate for the President, we can move forward with the common candidate.”

The Maoist Center has said that then the appointment of a consensus candidate will avert any any possible incident in the future.

The Maoist Center has also emphasized the need to appoint a consensus candidate that is agreeable to all political parties, including the CPN-UML and Nepali Congress.

The party has also decided to intensify discussion with other political forces for the same.
