Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda, has declared that he won’t cling to his current role as the head of the government if he fails to foster hope and drive positive changes in the nation.

In an address to the nation marking the government’s first anniversary, Prime Minister Dahal emphasized his lack of interest in retaining the position.

He articulated, “We all bear a moral obligation to ensure fairness in our responsibilities. If one cannot exhibit efficiency, stepping down becomes imperative. This counsel isn’t directed solely at others but applies to myself as well. If I haven’t succeeded in ushering positive changes or nurturing hope in the country, then continuing in this position becomes unnecessary for me.”

Govt serious about rescuing Nepalis trapped in Russia-Ukraine conflict: Prime Minister Dahal

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has indicated that the government is serious about rescuing Nepalis trapped in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

In his address on Tuesday on behalf of the nation, the Prime Minister mentioned this concern.

Drawing a parallel with Nepal’s rescue operation during the Hamas attack in Israel, Prime Minister Dahal highlighted the government’s dedication to rescuing Nepalis trapped in the Russia-Ukraine conflict in a similar vein.

100 Nepalis enlisted in Russian Army reportedly missing or injured: Foreign Minister Saud

Foreign Minister NP Saud has disclosed disturbing information regarding the involvement of Nepali citizens in the Russian army, with reports indicating that around 200 Nepali youths may have enlisted. Out of this group, Minister Saud stated that 100 individuals are currently missing or injured.

Country’s economy improving, claims Finance Minister Mahat

Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has said country’s economy is improving and the economic indicators are now positive. Talking to media persons at Bharatpur Airport today, Minister Mahat shared, “The negative publicity that there is no future in Nepal and no one should invest in Nepal has ended. Now, environment of investment has been built in the country.”

President expresses concern over ’empty villages’

President Ram Chandra Paudel has expressed his concern over villages turning ’empty’ due to rampant migration to urban areas. In his address to a function marking the 65th anniversary of Thamel-based Saraswoti Multiple Campus today, the Head of the State urged one and all to seek ways to address the situation.

Government forwards activities for iron ore exploration

The government has forwarded activities related to iron ore exploration in the country to minimize iron import from India. Iron extraction works have been pursued after the study carried out by the Department of Mines and Geology found that there are iron ore deposits from west Namjakot to east Dhaubadi under Hupsekot rural municipality-5 in Gandaki province.

NC recommends names to National Assembly for Jan 25 elections

The Nepali Congress (NC) Koshi State Committee has finalized its recommendations for the upcoming National Assembly (NA) elections scheduled for January 25, 2024. A meeting held at the Koshi Province office in Biratnagar identified and proposed the names of its candidates to contest in the elections. The recommended list includes figures such as Mahesh Acharya, Dr. Minendra Rizal, Gururaj Ghimire, Umesh Jung Rayamazhi, Taraman Gurung, Tanka Rai, Giriraj Acharya, Dr. Dila Sangraula, and Rukmini Koirala.

Marathon of over Rs 1.8 million prize to be organized in Pokhara

An international Safal Pokhara Marathon Championship carrying a prize amount of Rs 1.85 million is going to be organized from February 17, 2024 at Pokhara of Kaski. Ex-Sportsmen Forum Nepal is organising the Championship. Forum Treasurer Mahesh Poudel shared that the 42-kilometer open marathon would be organised towards men category.

More than 11 thousand temporary shelters built for Jajarkot earthquake victims

So far 11,336 temporary houses have been constructed for the earthquake survivors in five districts. More than 67 thousand beneficiaries have been registered in Jajarkot, Rukum West and Salyan districts of Karnali province and Bajura and Bajhang of the Sudurpaschim province until now.
