PM Dahal vows to unearth even larger corruption scandals



MAGMA, RUKUM WEST: Prime Minister and CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ declared his intent to unveil even more substantial corruption cases, emphasizing that good governance remains the government’s foremost priority.

Prime Minister Dahal, made this announcement during his visit to Magma in Rukum West while participating in the Ward Committee Meeting of Ward No. 6 and 7 of Banfikot Rural Municipality as part of the party’s three-month special transformation campaign.

He assured the public, stating, “You know that the government has already exposed major corruption cases, ranging from embezzlement to the investigation of counterfeit Bhutanese refugees. I want to make it clear that our efforts to unearth corruption will not wane. We are committed to opening even larger corruption files.”

The Prime Minister emphasized the need for continued support from the people, saying, “Since taking office, we have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to good governance and the fight against corruption. As we work to uncover more significant cases, your support remains crucial.”

He went on to announce that the government is now setting its sights on exposing corruption related to land mafias and brokers.

Regarding the duration of the current alliance, he asserted that the Constitution would endure for five years and that the alliance would persist according to its original purpose. He also predicted the formation of a coalition government in the Koshi province.

Prime Minister Dahal highlighted the increase in foreign investment since he took office, with notable visits from the Secretary General of the United Nations and the King of Qatar. He attributed these visits to the improved investment climate in Nepal.

Throughout his address, he emphasized his deep connection to the region, stating, “During the preparations for the war before 1996, throughout the decade-long conflict, and after the establishment of peace in 2006, I consistently turned to Rukum and Rolpa whenever the party or the nation faced adversity.”

The Maoist Center Chairman urged Rukum to spearhead the socialist revolution and acknowledged the party’s internal turmoil after departing from the Prachandapath ideology, underscoring his efforts to strengthen the party.

In this resolute statement, Prime Minister Dahal reiterated the government’s commitment to rooting out corruption and ensuring good governance as a top priority.
