One killed in scooter accident



HETAUDA: A woman has died and a person sustained injuries when the scooter they were riding met with an accident at Jurikhet, Ward No 6 of Bhimphedi Rural Municipality in Makawanpur district last night.

The scooter with registration number plate 02-027-Pa 4842 was heading towards Hetauda from Kathmandu when it fell some 100 meters down the Kathmandu-Kulekhani-Hetauda road.

The deceased is 62-year-old Rajya Shree Thapa Chhetri, spouse of 65-year-old Sashi Raj Pandey of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-27.

Pandey, who was riding the scooter was injured in the mishap, said Deputy Superintendent Laxmi Bhandari of the District Police Office. Police said Chhetri, who was critically injured in the incident, died last night while undergoing treatment at Hetauda Hospital while Pandey is receiving medical treatment at the same hospital.
