Nepal’s mountainous regions likely to witness snowfall

KATHMANDU: As Nepal’s western region is currently under the partial influence of westerly winds, the Weather Forecasting Division has forecast the possibility of snowfall in the mountainous areas.

According to the Division, the weather is partly cloudy in the hilly areas and generally clear in other regions.

In the afternoon, the hilly areas are expected to remain partly cloudy while the rest of the areas will experience clear weather, it said.

Additionally, there is a possibility of isolated light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some hilly regions.

The Division has also indicated a likelihood of light snowfall in select areas and Himalayan areas today.

During the night, the forecast suggests the weather to be partly cloudy in the hilly regions and generally clear elsewhere.
