RPP Parliamentary Party discusses Chairmen for Parliamentary Committees at Singha Durbar



KATHMANDU: The parliamentary party meeting of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is currently engaged in discussions regarding the selection of chairpersons for the upcoming parliamentary committees within the House of Representatives (HoR). This event is scheduled for Sunday, August 27.

The meeting is taking place at the parliamentary party office located in Singha Durbar.

Rajendra Lingden, the RPP Chairman and leader of the parliamentary party is notably absent from the meeting due to his ongoing foreign tour.

One of the key decisions of the meeting will be whether the party should nominate a candidate for the position of chairman in the parliamentary committee election.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire has slated the election for the parliamentary committee leadership roles to take place at 1 pm on Sunday.

Among the involved parties, namely CPN-Maoist Center, Nepali Congress, and the primary opposition party CPN-UML, there is division regarding the chairmanship of the parliamentary committees. Meanwhile, the opposition parties Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and RPP have not been included in this division.

The RSP parliamentary party has already concluded its meeting with a resolution to put forth a candidate for the chairman position in the parliamentary committee election.
