NRB auctioning Rs 29.1 billion worth of treasury bills

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is auctioning treasury bills worth Rs 29.1 billion on coming May 28.

The maturity period of the bills is between 28 to 364 days. The purpose of auctioning treasury bills is to collect internal loans, it has been said.

The short-term interest rate for the bills is 7.91 percent, according to the central bank.

Similarly, the 364-day treasury bills charge an 8.80 percent interest rate, and the interbank interest rate is 7 percent.

Earlier on May 22, the NRB auctioned treasury bills worth Rs 34.2 billion.
