Government urges President to authenticate Citizenship Bill

The government has decided to formally urge President Ram Chandra Paudel to authenticate the Citizenship Bill that was recently passed by the Federal Parliament. A meeting of the cabinet held on Friday decided to request the President to authenticate the Bill, which has been pending in the President’s Office since last September.

Govt prioritises promotion of human rights: PM Dahal

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the government is committed to respecting, protecting and promoting the human rights. In his address to a ceremony held here on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the National Human Rights Commission on Friday, the head-of-the government pledged to contribute continuously for the development of a cultured society with the guarantee of human rights.

Pradeep Yadav appointed JSP Chief Whip

Public transport fare decreases in Bagmati province

The public transport fare has decreased in Bagmati Province, including in the Kathmandu Valley. The Ministry of Labour, Employment and Transport has reduced the fare, nine days after Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) slashed the price of diesel.

NA collects more than 35,000 kg of garbage from mountains

Almost 36,000 kilograms of solid waste has been collected from various mountains under the Safa Himal Campaign 2023 conducted by the Nepal Army. The target of the campaign was to collect 35,000 kg of garbage.

NRB auctioning Rs 29.1 billion worth of treasury bills

The Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is auctioning treasury bills worth Rs 29.1 billion on coming May 28. The maturity period of the bills is between 28 to 364 days. The purpose of auctioning treasury bills is to collect internal loans, it has been said.

Gold price down by Rs 500 today

Gold price decreased by Rs 500 in the domestic market today. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of fine gold has been fixed at Rs. 108,300 per tola and standard gold is traded at Rs 107,800 per tola.
