Addressing the gathering, UML senior Vice Chair and Foundation Chair Ishwor Pokhrel insisted on following the footsteps of Adhikari and promoting his ideologies and thoughts.

“It would be a true tribute to the late leader if we could contribute for achieving political stability and promoting national sovereignty and independence,” he said.

Adhikari was the first Communist Prime Minister of Nepal. He passed away on April 26, 1999 at the age of 78 following a heart attack in course of the election publicity campaign.
