House of Representatives meeting taking place today

Expected to form a Parliamentary Special Committee to advance Transitional Justice Bill



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) is taking place today.

The meeting to be held at 3:00 pm is expected to form a Parliamentary Special Committee to advance the Transitional Justice Bill.

Likewise, Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Ishwari Devi Neupane is scheduled to present a proposal to form the Committee.

CPN-UML lawmaker Raghuji Pant is expected to support the proposal with the names of MPs in the Committee.

Earlier, the government was in a mood to pass the Bill through fast track.

Three major political parties — Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Maoist Center – have already agreed to form a Parliament Special Committee for the purpose.
