579 firms registered, 162 revoked in Tanahu in one year



TANAHU: The Cottage and Small Industry Office, Tanahu, has registered 579 firms in the fiscal year 2021/22.

Of them, 33 firms were registered towards cottage and 546 towards small industries.

With the increasing attraction of youths towards agriculture and animal husbandry, registration of agriculture-related industries has also been increased.

Youths returned from overseas employment have been found attracted towards animal husbandry.

The total capital of the industries registered in the previous fiscal year is Rs 635.24 million, according to the Office.

The annual production capacity of these industries is Rs 1.71 billion.

A total of 1,035 people have got employment in these new industries. Of them, 534 are women and 501 are men.

The Office has collected Rs 2.43 million revenue from the registration of the industries.

Meanwhile, the Office has revoked 162 firms in the district during this period. Computer Operator of the Office, Rabi Adhikari, said the office scrapped the firms, which were not in operation and applications were filed for their annulment.

A total of 12 firms were scrapped in the first month, 16 in the second month, 17 in the third month, 13 in the fourth month, 11 in the fifth month, 17 in the sixth month, 12 in the seventh month, 10 in the eighth month, seven in the ninth month, two in the 10thh month, 17 in the 11th month and 28 in the 12th month of the fiscal year 2021/22.
