KATHMANDU: The Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has stepped up preparation to make its ticket sale management further effective.

In this connection, NAC has formed a task force to resolve problems that surfaced in the management of ticket sales and distribution within 15 days.

Prior to this, the corporation held a discussion with the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) in this regard.

NAC Spokesperson Archana Khadka shared that the task force was constituted to increase the current sales of tickets and bring in more foreign tourists.

The eight-member task force comprises NAC Business Director Janakraj Kalakheti, Finance Department Director Umesh Poudel, General Service and Property Management Director Anil Ghimire and Deputy Director of Business Department Santosh Pandey.

Likewise, the task force has representation from NATTA officials, including senior vice-chair Pramod Dahal, general-secretary Kumar Mani Thapaliya, treasurer Rajkumar Devkota, working committee member Sabala Bhandari.

The high-ranking officials representing the NAC and NATTA held a discussion to simplify sales management of tickets. Among other agendas discussed were ensuring sound management of ‘gross fair’, ‘group fair’, ‘charge flight’ and ‘void ticket’.

It may be noted that Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati while making on-site inspection of NAC head office on January 23 had directed the officials to manage online sales of the Nepal Airlines tickets (domestic and international) within a month.

Spokesperson Khadka said the NAC however had already placed a system for online sales and distribution of domestic tickets.

With the online system in place, international card holders can also buy international tickets using the NAC website.

Arrangement of ticket purchase through local wallet would be made possible within January, NAC said.
