Nepali Army marks 263rd foundation day on Mahashivaratri



KATHMANDU: Nepal’s premier security force, the Nepali Army, celebrated its 263rd Foundation Day and Mahashivaratri today by organizing various programs.

President Ram Chandra Poudel attended a special program held at Army Pavilion (Sainik Manch), Tundikhel, in Kahtmandu as the chief guest on the occasion of Shivaratri and Army Day.

The Nepali Army has been observing Mahashivaratri as Army Day for the past two decades. Marking the occasion, a parade featuring arms exercises, cannon salutes and processions was organized at Sainik Manch, along with various cultural performances.

The ceremony was attended by the Vice President, Prime Minister, Chief Justice, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chairman of the National Assembly and other distinguished guests.
