RSP launches foot march for road upgrades from Narayangadh to Butwal

NARAYANGADH, CHITWAN: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman, Rabi Lamichhane, has kickstarted a foot march from Narayangadh to Butwal, primarily targeting the recent delay in upgrading the Narayangadh-Butwal road section.

The journey commenced on Monday from Pulchowk in Narayangadh and aims to cover the 113-kilometer stretch to Butwal within three days, as outlined by the RSP.

Chairman Lamichhane explained that the march is an effort to bring the government’s attention to the sluggish progress in road improvements along the East-West Highway, specifically the Narayangadh-Butwal section, causing inconvenience to travelers.

Joining the expedition are party leaders, parliamentarians, and activists, all adhering to Lamichhane’s call to refrain from displaying party insignias or slogans and to maintain a peaceful environment throughout the journey.

Lamichhane refuted claims of borrowing 10 million rupees from a Pokhara-based cooperative, highlighting ongoing targeted attacks against him. He speculated that the corn-cob incident in Pokhara might have been premeditated to tarnish his image.
