500 Megawatts of electricity wasted daily since Fulpati

An estimated 500 megawatts of hydropower-generated electricity is being wasted due to a significant drop in domestic electricity consumption throughout the country during the festive season of Dashain. The closure of industrial operations that typically contribute to heightened electricity consumption during this period, coupled with milder weather conditions in Kathmandu and the Terai, has resulted in diminished internal demand for power.

Second day of Dashain celebration observed

Today marked the second day of the Dashain festival. As the auspicious occasion of Bijaya Dashami unfolds, those unable to participate in the festivities yesterday sought blessings from their seniors today. Manang Air pilot Sedhai, injured in helicopter crash, passes away

Pilot Prakash Sedhai, who was injured in a helicopter crash of Manang Air in Solukhumbu on October 14, passed away. Yograj Kadel, the Spokesperson of the Airlines Operators Association, confirmed his demise at the National Burn Center in Mumbai, India, during the course of his treatment. Captain Sedhai was flying the Manang Air (9N-ANJ) helicopter during the accident in Solukhumbu.

Teenage arrested in Janakpur with a pistol
