Search for a person disappeared in rivulet underway



BUTWAL: Search has been continued to find whereabouts of a person who went missing in the Danab rivulet Tuesday while participating in a ceremony to immerse the idol of Goddess Durgal in Kotahimai rural municipality of Rupandehi, police said.

Two persons died and one went missing in the rivulet while attending the idol immersion ceremony during the Bada Dashain festival.

Locals said all three persons who went to immerse the idol from Kptahimai rural municipality-1, Amargunj had drowned in the rivulet at once.

Search for Santa Kumar Rajbhar, 20, who went missing in the rivulet is underway with the involvement of the teams of the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army, informed Rupandehi Police.

Locals had retrieved the bodies of two persons who died after being drowned in the rivulet at Duimohanghat on Tuesday. The bodies were taken to Bharahawa for post-mortem.

The deceased were identified as Ajaya Kumar Nau, 24, and Ajaya Rajbhar, 18, of Amargunj. Deceased Nau is a police personnel working at the District Police Office, Palpa.

He died after drowned in the rivulet while participating in the immersion of the idol, informed Chief of Rupandehi Police and Superintendent of Police (SP) Bharat Bahadur Biswokarma.
