Manavsewa Ashram in Baglung getting own building

BAGLUNG: The Gandaki Province government has assisted Rs 15 million in the construction of a building for the Manavsewa Ashram, a charitable organisation in Baglung.

The project to construct the Ashram’s building reports above 60 percent progress, it is said.

The local government is coordinating to implement the project based in Kiranatole of Baglung municipality-3.

Building construction committee chair Shiba Khadka said so far the project’s cost is Rs 32.5 million and the province government, various local governments and philanthropists have funded it.

The project has been underway for three years. Now, the organisation provides temporary shelter to 55 people rescued from the street, said Ashram coordinator Bipana Tamang.

It runs on the charity of people from diverse backgrounds. As the Ashram says, it is solely a non-profit social organization dedicated to making Nepal a ‘street people free country’.

It was founded in 2012 with its headquarters in Hetauda.
